Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I have a Mimby and Vali 2 with my HD650s and it sounds fantastic. Personally I wouldn't say the HD650s are the crispest, cleanest sounding headphones, but they do sound really really great!

UPS lost the temporary power amp I bought on Crutchfield...

keeping up with this thread is borderline a full-time job. almost as bad as the HD600 thread.

Not to force you to over-disclose, @Jason Stoddard, but should the Schiitr have the triple flusher released and ready for usage by August 1, when I return to LA for a week after my European tour?

I was about to buy the HD650's. What would you that sounds better than them, out of curiosity?

I'd jump in and say that it would really depend on your preferred sound signature, budget and if you'd like an open or closed headphone...

That said, bang for the buck, with proper amping and cable, you'd be hard pressed to find a better performing headphone for the money.

Looks like Massdrop have got HD6XX coming soon, not better but probably cheaper (I have HD650 balanced from Jot and love it, {just thought I'd mention Schiit})

Go get them. Let them hear why obsolete is the future.
Today This was used to prove to me that class d is a much cleaner signal.

What that image has done is hide the fact that there is a DAC and Pre-Amplifier included in the box labeled "M2 Amplifier," otherwise it won't work.

I was looking in the under $600 range. I don't have much to say on signature and I'm not in a location that allows me to listen to alternatives. I do have an original pair of AKG K240's that are fairly neutral and ATH-M50's that are nice, but not great. Building a pair of Statement II's for the Freya and Yggy.

I haven't heard of Massdrop? I've only heard good things about he HD650.

I noticed that too and it's not a true representation of class d amplification.

Hd600, imo, is a more neutral signature. Also better for more genres. But he400s/i would probably be more fashionable these days.

Yet the HD650 is the more universally liked headphone. I prefer it the HD650 to the HD600 for all genres...
