It's a little trickier. You've got to remove the gray shell then the top. Same in reverse, because you have to line up the LEDs. There's guides out there.

I find the A2 slightly colder and dryer with a bit more attack especially on the low end and a bit more extended on the highs. Mates up perfect with my speakers. A1 is more midcentric and smooth and absolutely addicting on M Field and clear OG for me.
Mine, bought used16 months ago, is MB 01234. Paired with a Freya N and great tubes (currently NOS RCA 12AU7 clear-tops branded "Conn") it's the best that I've heard music reproduced.

The OG Gungnir is challenging to open. The top, front, and bottom are all one piece making a u shape. Lots of screws involved, and I found it difficult to line up the leds with the holes in the case upon reassembly.
