Save the date: a Sennheiser CES debut
Jan 17, 2024 at 3:03 PM Post #241 of 307
Hello everyone đź‘‹ It's been a whirlwind week at CES followed by a personal trip for a family function, all while planning for a big visit to the Tullamore factory next week. I've been reading the replies, rants, complaints, questions, armchair-management speculation, and other comments--I'm putting together a quick video to try and answer them all. Please stay tuned and thanks for all of the replies!

Please, take into account our years-lasting question: is there anything improving on the HD 800/800S in the plans of Sennheiser for the foreseeable future? We know makers must not show their cards, but this question is already too old...

They will never answer this until they announce the successor (if its ever coming)

In this article https://hometheaterreview.com/spirit-of-innovation-75-years-of-sennheiser/
They did mention something is coming, but I just hope it comes while my hearing lasts ....

"
BK: How will Sennheiser top the HD 800 S?
JK:
In terms of sound clarity, the HE 1 has already spectacularly succeeded the HD 800 S, albeit not at a price point that is accessible to everyone. Sennheiser believes in bringing music ever closer to our customers, and our team explores and evaluates every possibility to reach this goal. Sometimes it comes in incremental steps (like HD 800 to HD 800 S), and other times our products shape the landscape of high-end headphones. Stay tuned for what comes next!"

If this is a sign of an HD800 Pro (or whatever they wanna call it) then sign me up and I'll eat all my negativity in this thread! Love the fact they went with Mini XLR's, steel headband, etc... if it's just an HD600/650 with better build quality that's pretty dope

Isn’t The Sennheiser that makes consumer headphones separate from the professional product Sennheiser?

Pretty sure we're in the Consumer Division thread and this 490 Pro is from the... pro side? The original Sennheiser side.
Apparently it measures/sound like an HD 650.

I didn't wanna make a new thread is all. See here (timestamped for 12:12):
