thanks

i got 4 correct.

differences are quiet apparent unlike philips golden ear test.

it was also a broadband speed test.

Well I consistently got 3/5 getting the same two songs wrong twice in a row. Something about the two songs that I wasn't able to judge.

  i got 5/5

Great! Can you give some idea of what the test system was like?

I tried it twice and got 5/5. (RE272+lowly laptop output). The differences were minute for me. I don't think I would have got them all if it wasn't for my detail freak RE272.
I'll try it with a better output, to see if it's more apparent

The Philips golden ears challenge is a lot more fun.

Check it out if you haven't already.

Edit: Also try this test a Head-fi member put together http://www.head-fi.org/t/744307/high-bitrate-lossy-listening-test

I tried the Philips golden ears challenge! Its a real challenge. Can't seem to judge soundstage with consistency.

my setup - fiio x3+ hifiman he400
different is apparent... pink floyd's song is a bit difficult for me to say  as it is very well recorded one
for me in compressed songs', bass is prominent, less clarity and less headroom
hifi has more clarity with more headroom
they made this to be apparent for consumers to subscribe i think
there is a thread here about this test

Thats a great setup there. But I would have one doubt though, does the X3 have enough power to drive the Hifiman to high levels?

Would you consider this song a good test for soundstage:

Lucky Ali - Dekha hai aise bhi

This is fantastic choice. Indeed a good song for testing soundstage.

Shreyas,

What is GOSF? BTW, for all, the amazon.in is trying to rip people off by listing the HD 600 at 41 grand. Sennheiser had it on sale last Friday at $260. You do the math and add in 30% duty. Nowhere close. Sheesh !

All the major Indian shopping sites (Amazon, ebay, snapdeal etc) have been contaminated by import-ed/forwarded goods sellers like Cart2India, Shopyourworld, booyahchicago etc. A lot more products show up in searches, but none of these are truly locally available and are subject to crazy mark-ups regardless of estimated customs+shipping charges. It's a pain sifting through all these dealers.

PSThe Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) was created by Google India on 12 December 2012 in collaboration with a number of Indian online shopping portals. The concept of the GOSF was that the online shopping sites would give heavy discounts for one day, in order to promote their sales. Occurs annually.

You are right... .all the resellers you mentioned are disappointing. Maybe they are more reliable sources than the Free Worldwide shippers (LMUE, Shenzhenaudio, Aliexpress, DX, etc) but the prices are just ridiculous.

Also I rarely manage to find what I'm looking for.

Also I don't think GOSF will make more difference. I'm all down for the current hot sellers like Havi B3 Pro, KC06, TTPOD T1E and more. None of which available here in India ~~
