I'm selling mine but they ain't cheap because I paid a lot for them NOS from Germany.  I also have a mint K270 Playback for sale at some point.  Even rarer than the NOS K340!

New here- mid 70's K140s - not yet modded. K270s for monitor duty. Looking to add K240 Sextetts in the future as soon as I build a suitable amp.

Incidentally, I plugged the 140s in to this old Marshall head the other day and they sounded better than anything else I've heard them on. Now I just have to figure out why and replicate it.

I was wondering, due to several production circles and almost every old AKG sounding different.
 
Which headphone of their HiFi-calss K 4/5/6/70X has the fullest and warmest sound?
I had several and was quite surprised after rading several reviews over here. My findings just look quite different.
 
 
Bass quantity (hence, these findings might differ quite a bit from what you have experienced)
Q701 > K701 > K400 > K601 > K501
 
I always thought that the K601 is said to have the most bass... so listening to them shocked me quite a bit
 
 
also,treble peakiness
K601 > K701 > K400 > Q701 > K501
 
what's was wrong with my pair of K601, they sound like an early K701 (bought the 601 late 2011, don't know the serial anymore, sold 'em)

Extended my own collection a bit since my first K340 .
K240 sextet MP - K240M - K260 NOS (non pro, but looks like it was made yesterday and just out of the box) - K271 MKII - K280 - K290 NOS - 2X K340 (1 custom cable & 1 NOS) and finally my K702.
 
Still looking to complete my collection with a pair of 250's and 270's. Damn hard to find for non insane prices in EU. If anyone has a pair they are willing to part with (EU based), hit me a PM!
Almost had a K145 but forgot to check the ebay auction on time
