I used to own the K501, K701 and K1000. Many AKGs as well as many other headphones have come and gone but I still have my K340. Proud original owner for over 18 years. My K340 is stock and I have recently compared it to 2 heavily modded K340s and mine came out on top (others thought so too). I have no plans of ever selling it.

Thought about going balanced long time ago, hence consider the senn hd600 and hd650 as detachable cables are after all much efficient, and they sound fairly similar.
However, yesterday, even after trying the alo sxc hd600, althought the lush mid range is WOAH, vocals was so sweet that the k702 w BD cant match it for vocals. However, in terms of details, soundstage, highs, k702 w BD is up by a notch

Guess I will be selling my k702 w BD, get myself a k701 and mod it to balanced
