K701 here also!

If only I didn't waste my money on the HD595s.

I didn't even sell them.. I only gave them away to my cousin, though that being said, I'm glad he's enjoying them though

I bought and still use a pair of K240DFs, which I had re-built about 3 years ago. I also have a pair of K501s. I agree that K501s have good bass. Its tightly controlled and unless you listen to synthetic music (I don't) its quite adequate.

AKG K701 on HeadFive #300 here. Been a long term member of House Senn (13-14 years), but decided to try something new recently. Really glad that I did!!

K271S, K81DJ, and the crappy K26P. Can't decide if I want K701 or HD650 or DT770 next!

You're gonna have to try them all with that mentality! I had the same, bought a pair of k701's and am very very very pleased with them. I love the sound, but I'm still curious about the other 2, so I'm waiting til the end of the month for the NY meet to try out the other 2. =T

Lifelong Harman Kardon devotee. Sold my AKG501 (too distant on most recordings), bought a pair of AKG271s and couldn't be happier. The 271s are the perfect rock can. Glad I stuck with AKG.

I've got a K701 running off a GCHA. The good synergy was surprising to me at first though a number of individuals have spoken of the GCHA has a good solid-state amplifier for the K701 in the past. I'm looking forward to acquiring some sort of tube amplifier for my K701 in the future.

Though it may also be possible that I'll leave Team AKG in the future for team A-T or JVC. Blasphemous, I know.

K701 - Currently driving me crazy as they break-in with continuous "System Burn-in" track from XLO/Reference Lab Test Disk. Well, nearly continuous, anyway. I do stop the madness every so often to check how they're coming along. Big improvement after 48 hours. At that point I checked them for about 3 hours. God bless the "System Burn-in" track.
