Rockbox Xduoo X3

helo all, so I have RBxed my X3. I am trying to go back to the original FW by using lock ON whie power on mode, but nothing is appears, is there any way to go back to the original FWon my condition?

Sadly this wil not be possible anymore with the newer generations of the X3.

There’s a guy working on a possible solution. Hopefully it will work out. I’m not holding my breath though.

Anyone even remotely thinking about Rockbox on an X3 needs to view it as a 1-way street. Not that that’s a bad thing though; Rockbox blows away the stock firmware

apparently there's a fix for the dual boot error released by, wait for it....
Xduoo. see the Xduoo X3 thread it's mentioned in there. latest firmware has new boot loader program.

I haven't downloaded it as I don't have the dual boot issue.

Hi all. I've updated my rockbox download page with new rockbox/stock/back to stock packages in order to support the X3 rev. 2 players (with new flash chip).
The new X3-Rockbox loader with rockbox-full-c140430-180720 flash archive is suited for both old (r1) and new (r2) hardware revisions and contains new rockbox bootloader stock bootloader and stock kernel.
Potentially this can fix some problems and is recommended to flash for everyone.

Enabled equalizer (edit file mplayer.conf and put it to the root of TF card) and optimized (stripped) binaries for speed and size.

I'd like to buy a new X3. Anyone know where they are in stock? I have tried Aliexpress and they tried to keep my money after not sending the player. Amazon appear to have them but they won't ship to Australia.

The all new generation 2 was on Massdrop a short while ago, or are you interested in the gen 1?

Well I want to put Rockbox on it. I would buy a gen 2 if I knew there was going to be a Rockbox version for it.


I have checked eBay carefully. There are a number of sellers advertising X2/X3 and when you look at their sale they only have X2s. Pretty useless.

No Rockbox for the X3 v2. At least not yet.

Although that could change. @XVortex made custom firmware for the xduoo X20, so I don’t know if he will eventually work on firmware for any of the other newer xduoo models as well.

I have a plans to release a rockbox for x3ii by the end of summer.
