Sorry, was out for a while.

I have a brand new X3, if you still need the files I'll happily post here.
Hi Kegham! One more backup is welcome! It is important that player is new non-rockboxed with its original stock firmware installed. Please, use the instruction bolow to make firmware backup:

You will need SDcard <=32 gb in Fat32
1.Put two files (update.zip и script.sh) on this sdcard. Here is direct link to get these files(rezerv copy.zip) .
2. Mount sdcard in slot #1 on player
3. Power on the player
4.Follow in menu to Settings->Update->Yes ( will be no update but only will execute a script from script.sh)
5. Wait a few seconds when backup is done and player restarted automaticaly (in usual mode)
6. Turn off player
7. Unmount sdcard and get from it's root backup file : mtd0.bin-mtd7.bin and send it to me (just simply upload file in my GoogleDrive folder)

As for the actual progress with new x3 firmware... New firmware and core were successfully extracted from backup by kundatra, nand chip info added to nandinfo.cfg. Difficulty has appeared with extracting loader from backup, due to lack of data for decompilating. Testing new core and firmware with old loader gives successful installation process but still with black screen at the end after power on. Will be good to test one more backup too and check if it is same as kundarta's.

Will let you all know about further progress...

Anyone ever have luck with a warranty claim with XDuoo? I sent two emails to XDuoo, asking how to start the process and have not received any communications back.

What’s your issue? It may be easier to fix yourself.

Also, I’m sure they’ll expect you to ship it back to China. I’m not sure where you’re located, but shipping from US->China is crazy expensive ($40-$50).

Did not realize it would have to be sent to China; probably not worth it for a $100 DAP. There is an issue with the headphone jack; the left channel stopped working. If I put some pressure on it, it worked for a bit.

I bought it in February and this issue started the end of May. So only a few months of daily use with not much plugging in headphones.

If you’re good with a soldering iron you could try replacing the jack yourself. Or take it to an electronics repair shop.

Another option is just to use the line out jack. It will bypass the amp etc, but at least you’ll still be able to use it.

Where are you located?

BTW Go sysadmins :punch:

I am about an hour East from Pittsburgh. Nice to meet another fellow Sysadmin on the boards. There seem to be a few around. My soldering experince is limited to soldering wires together for PC fans years ago. Might see about giving it a go, as there isn't really anything to lose. I have a Sahnling M2s on order to replace it with anyways, but RockBox was just so great.

Ah, got it. I’m in Cincinnati Ohio.

I could give it a shot and try and fix it for you if you want. Or maybe even just buy it for spare parts for my X3 (screen, etc). PM me if interested.

The board and SMD components are quite fragile. Heck, a lot of people have sheared off the volume switches just taking the board out (before even having a chance to work on it)! Then you’re totally screwed.

Also, both sides of the board is loaded with components (including right next to the 3.5mm jacks), so you’ll at least need a decent quality soldering station with small pointed/SMD tips and good temperature regulation. So if all you have is one of the basic entry level $5 non-adjustable Radio Shack type soldering irons, I wouldn’t bother. You’ll do way more harm than good.

I do have sheared one of the volume switches, actually :) While soldering the new one in place I removed a resistor and it's still broken.

Regarding the jack, though, you could fix it easily. I believe you won't even need to remove the old one, but simply reflow the soldering manually.

Another good suggestion worth trying.

Hello guys! Good news for those who got X3 from new parties and bricked X3 after Rockboxing. Fellas from Xduoo finally shared the proper firmware to download. Find it here: https://www.xtenik.com/latest-firmware-download/

Install it via standard xduooX3burnTool on win 7 only. New X3 firmware is located in XduooX3Burn tool. Dont forget to share your results here please.

All thanks goes to user" telecomberd "from 4pda.ru who forced Xduoo to share the link to proper firmware!

So this simply puts the X3 v2.0 100% back to stock, correct?
