[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Jun 8, 2013 at 11:02 AM Post #2,326 of 3,824
Argh, no wonder i just got it for 8 bucks on Amazon, great.

So, with a TRRS adapter it should work then?
Wonder if i can somehow brick that call function to turn it into on-mode steadily...

To make it clear.

Something like http://www.amazon.com/Smartphone-Headset-PC-Adapter-01-PH35-PC35/dp/B008OB2NHA/

would work out with my notebook or what is it for? Notebook also has a headphone and mic plug ofc., wouldn't work with my Sansa Clip though.

http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-Headphone-Compatible-Recessed-Extension/dp/B000WKS8QG/

Why do these adapters or extensions get so many bad reviews?
So it is not guaranteed that it will work out?

The second one is better bet. However, it is hard to say for sure until you try it out.

I am still trying to get my head around the hype of these. Yes they sound great for their price tag but are ergonomically unusable. the cable is ridiculous.
Yes I have seen (and totally understand why) re-cabled versions in earlier posts in this thread but for the normal consumer, a nightmare imo.
Due to the price tag I can`t even sell mine but once I move house I may use them as my first "test" iem to modify/re-cable.

Something that sounds similar/better? Samsung Galaxy SII iems. I have just got an S3 and believe it or not have not tried the packaged iem  version (look like Apple iems) yet.

Well, they're not unusable - it's just a bit unpleasant to deal with that cable. You might check the vsonic VSD1 - and the mh1c's tips are pretty good with it LOL

Couldn't find that one here in a German store.

Ordered the following though for 3€.

http://www.amazon.de/Headset-Adapter-4-polige-5-mm-Klinkenstecker-%C3%A4ndert-Pinbelegung/dp/B006SECMM6

It's changing the order of the pin-out. So it should work.
Will report next week, when i received it.

Hey guys, my Sony MH1Cs after a lot of abuse (6 months in my pocket every day) have started to only play out of one ear. I'm new to this whole audiophile world and I don't know what to do. Any suggestions for how to fix this? Perhaps a recabling?

Does it crackle or play a bit of sound if you fiddle with the wire (especially where it terminates at the earpiece, remote, plug, etc)?
If so, it's a cable issue.

Otherwise people have reported moisture affecting one side which just needs a bit of drying out.

Had a go at recabling with MMCX connectors. The design of the strain relief makes it a bit difficult.

hey guys, so this question might seem a little weird, but does anybody know the diameter of the mh1c's jack plug? im planning on using this with my galaxy s3, and i want to know if the plug will fit in the slot for the headphone jack on my otterbox, as the width of that slot is 1.2 cm, and the plug seems quite bulky
