you can see that CleiOS says that analytical users might not be at home with these.

Did you figure out you're an analytical listener from your cx400's experience? Sorry, but LOL! I used it a couple of years ago and while it is one of the most decently and balanced sounding low-end sennheisers it's nothing special at all - let's say it had passable detail and clarity for the price but not so relevant nowadays, especially with all the cheap iems from vsonic, soundmagic, brainwavz, meelec,...... etc. that are way ahead in the game.

I dont think getting B2 is a good idea if you are not satisfied with MH1Cs signature. B2's and MH1C's share almost the same signature with minor differences according to these opinions..

B2 and mh1c sound nothing like each other.

Agree X2, absolutely not. They can complement each other very well if you want two IEM's with an almost opposite sound signature, but that's a whole different story. I'm also not saying that one is  better than the other, this all comes down to personal preferences.

Dunno man, but the CX 400 Precision-II is known for its immense clarity (look up the numerous reviews online) and these just feel a step down from them. I tried listening multiple times and tinkered with the EQ all day, but i am thoroughly disappointed with these. Had to spend USD50 here in India, and it just feels like money wasted. The only things which give it some points over my CX400 are the width of the soundstage and the warmth of the music, but the other cons far outweight the pros in my opinion and i won't be using them i guess. I might even give them away if i am ever able to find anyone from India interested in these on the forums....

I've owned a pair of CX400II and clarity was certainly not one of their qualities. They were muddy, had a midbass hump along with a treble that was recessed and completely off tonally. You are just used to their sound signature, give the MH1 some time to get to get familiar with its sound, technically it's allot more capable then the senn.

That is the most incorrect statement I have seen in a while.  Couldnt be further apart.

It's incorrect in the sense that the B2 and MH1C are different in sound signature, but correct in the sense that the B2 is much brighter than the MH1C and so would be an even worse choice for him.

I've ordered myself a pair of the MH1c after reading ClieOS' review and it arrived a week back. First impressions are, they are for me underwhelming. The top end just sounds too emphasized to my ears that they drown others. On my Nexus S [Voodoo] with Poweramp I had to reduce the top end almost halfway from zero for it to be bearable but then i think there's something missing from the sound. Am I the only one with this? Did I got a fake? My unit was bought from eBay.

Yes buddy, just like you, i depend on IEMs to determine what kind of a listener i am. And i dunno which variant of cx400 u tested but the precision-II definitely sounds more clear than these. I tested it multiple times across various genres. The difference is most visible in Trance and Orchestral music. And the cheap IEMs from those brands you mentioned aren't that good. The ones in $150+ range obviously destroy the cx400s but for the $70 i got these for 2 years ago, they did me well....

I was quite disappointed as well when i first got them...they need about 15 hours IMO

15+ hours done, feeling okay, nothing special.

what reports?

from an other thread see below ..

After reading all of the positive comments, I bought one of these. Just listened through them yesterday when they arrived. They sounded like crap! Perhaps I got bad copy, a bad set, or I need to do some serious burning in.

if you're displeased with the mh1c because of the high frequencies then you will be even more so with the b2.

I dont think that's true, the b2 have superb highs !!
