I ordered on Saturday morning and got it on Tuesday. Not too bad huh?

I just got a mail from audio-gd, they told me thay my order could have some delay because they are doing some improvements around the TE7022 chip (maybe the 50% volume issue?).

Same here. I just pulled the triger for dac19 dsp and they said shipment may delay for one week or ''hell, who knows''. Waiting is the most hard part after purchase.

Can anyone tell me which is the weakeast link of my setup?
Transport: Shanling PCD300A
DAC: Audio-gd DAC-19 DF
Head Amp: Burson HA160
Headphone: Beyerdynamic DT880 (250ohms, stock cable)
Cables/ Interconnects: Audio Art IC-3 & Power 1 (x 3), Oyaide DR-510
Power conditioner: Russ Andrews PowerLink

I guess the answer is my headphone. Am I correct?

Imo the cable on the headphone, assuming it is very thin? Some stock headphone cables may not be that bad. If you don't want to spend too much money you could recable it with mogami or canare starquad, or twisted pair (I would prefer twisted pair), they cost like 25-50 cents per foot of 2x or 4x 24-26 gauge conductors cables.

Agree, I would keep the headphones (they're very good) and spend some money on a good recable

I respectfully disagree. Recabling the "weak link" (which is the headphones imo) will not yield nearly as much improvement as "replacing" the weak link. Get the Denon D2000 and be done with it!

Replace HE-5LE with D2K?!?

No way!

HiFiMAN orthos are extremely current hungry and "feeding" them adequately can be tough, but If nothing is technically wrong with them - put them through 250 hours of pink noise at moderately high volume. Reevaluate.

If they are anything resembling HE-5 - no Denon x000 comes near.

IMO, of course.

DT880 is not a bad headphone I think. May be a little bit harsh and has some midbass humm but far away from calling weakest ring. Some people say 600ohm is even better. But stock cable is horrible indeed.

I know that, because I have been in correspondance with Kingwa regarding this,in fact one of the reasons for the delay is because of my testing of the USB chip.

If you find a problem and push them for solving, thank you very much. We can get full stability then. Hope they'll find a proper solution soon. Usb is important for me. Because I have only onboard sound card for transporting coax and optical.

Thanks guys! I may buy a modified DT880 (600ohms) and sell the present one.
