Review of Audio Technica ATH-IM01, ATH-IM02, ATH-IM03, ATH-IM04, ATH-IM50, & ATH-IM70

Which IEM should I buy after IM50/70? What I like about the IM50/70 are the mid presentation, and vocals but a little less mid-bass and more forward treble and extention than IM70 would be perfect for me. Can Zero Audio - ZH-DX200 be what I'm looking for or would it be a downgrade after IM70?

I'd guess it depends on preference but I rate the IM70 quite a bit higher than the Tenores. You will get less mid-bass and more subbass compared to the IM70 but you'll also get less soundstage depth and much smoother highs (way to smooth for my liking). The Tenores are fine but the IM70 are better, ymmw.

Than you Peter.

May I ask what you could recommend me? I don't want to loose that natural vocals. What I'm really asking for is an IEM that sounds like a mixture of RE-0 and IM70 if you had a chance to listen it.

tenores are not detailed enough, kind of fells cramped too. Why dont you try the re-400? now cheaper too. Fine details and dont have much mid bass  or you can say dont have much bass all together, a bit lower mid veiling but thats all i can fault.

Thanks but I really don't like RE400. I had it and sold it.

If that is the case you are stuck with im-70. tune the mid bass a bit maybe. IM-70 is an excellent for sure.

Lol, if I knew I'd be a happy man  I thought the CKR10's would've been the thing but although it's superior in many aspects it's also inferior in some.

Actually the only two IEM's that I own that I'd rate higher than the IM70 are the CKR10's and Havi B3 Pro1's but they both have their shortcomings as well...

I don't like suggesting stuff I've not heard and you're active enough around here to have read about Douza's, T2's and whatnot that's the talk of the town right now. Personally I'll wait for more impressions but what I'm really waiting for is the Havi B6's. If they can add subbass that satisfies on most music to the B3's sound then I'm done

I am super interested in the im02 and wanted to ask if anybody is able to compare it to tdk ie800 or havi b3 pro I because these to iems were the best in terms of vocal reproduction for my liking. Thanks in advance.

Haven't heard the IE800 but IM02 is better than Havi B3 at vocal reproduction.

Vocals on Havi B3 is a bit recessed and less detailed compared to IM02.

im02 will be way more intimate, with forward and lush mids... and will fall between the ie800 and b3 in terms of bass.

I just got my im50 two days ago. Perfect? no. Am I loving them? yes!
In a word... "meaty". More impressions soon.
