ON SECOND THOUGHT #6: Aurisonics ASG-2 is far far away from Harman's reference target. No, my friend. The sound quality of ASG-2 is not of a radio. It's rather of a telephone receiver.

Lol, thanks Rin. You got me!

The dips in the upper frequency reflect how I had my eq set for eke's pair: 2 and 4.5k. The treble peak is also where I eq'd down around 8k.

As for the sub bass, eke's pair didn't sound close to that. It had a lot of air movement at 20hz, although the peak was centered around 150hz. I wonder if the adjustable bass valve has been compromised on the measured pair. From my understanding, that's what could happen from one that's been over torqued and it wouldn't take much pressure to turn it beyond the stopping points.

I was going to congratulate you on nailing the peaks! :beerchug:

I think my deeper insertion is moving them over in the highs. But its ok because my ears push them out to a shallower insertion over time lol.

Notes:

1. The impedance characteristic is off the charts. That shape is one for the record books. I tried the 100ohm inline resistor and it blew up the midbass and pushed the mids off their seat (relatively). Just like it shows in On Second Thought #3.

2. [redacted] because this question made no sense.

3. [redacted] due to reading comprehension issues. :(

^ you know how I like my world to make sense.

Edit: Looks like I was getting close with the slight dip between 500 and 1k. Pats self on back. :) that tiny dip bothers me more than anything else tbh.

[continued]

4. Regardless of anything else, it looks like driver matching could have been better =/

regarding deep insertion hopefully no ladies are reading us

They deserve to be able to hit those high notes. Satisfaction guaranteed.

I just received my ASG-2!
I won't go into details as it's a tough exercise and there are already awesome reviews on this thread,
so in short: I am completely satisfied even though one can always find imperfections.
Shout out to Andy and Dale at Aurisonics, they have been awesome to deal with. I upgraded my ASG 1.2 and they even shipped my ASG 2 before I paid for it!
It feels like my money has been well spent :)

no mate, not so fast... what you must do now is pack your ASG2 and send them back to Aurisonics because Graphs are telling your ears are flawed.... perhaps you can also send them your own ears for fine tuning too so you can clearly hear how 5Khz kicks in

Anyone else want to take over being OP? Now that I've been proven a shill and liar, I don't deserve to run this thread.

Eke, why not? we need something to chew on ... a few graphs here and there, we need go a bit scientific to look cool

It's not the scientific parts. The graphs are welcome, though the FR strikes me as erroneous in the bass and upper treble.

What is troubling is this:

CON: All the others including unstable impedance characteristic, unmatched woofer response, short bandwidth & non-linear frequency response. Moreover, unlike what the engineer has stated, there is no treble.

ON SECOND THOUGHT #1: The bass-tuner is very crudely designed; it does not restore the sub-bass at all. Rather, only the mid-high bass is amplified up to 15 dB, causing an audible ringing of the driver.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but isn't <60hz considered sub-bass?

Then,

ON SECOND THOUGHT #6: Aurisonics ASG-2 is far far away from Harman's reference target. No, my friend. The sound quality of ASG-2 is not of a radio. It's rather of a telephone receiver.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What's the IEM with the most subbass you guys have heard? More subbass will give off a deep bass?

Now I understand why UnityisPower and gnarlsagan didn't like these at all....

But Ill understand more once I listen which will be soon.

what? what did you understand? Sorry I mostly only skim the posts and actually read the ones are I want to read.
