Haha, pardon me for not mentioning

. I'd like to know how they differ in their sonic qualities, basically. For example how the old single flange, bi flange and ortofon sound different from one other, and any of your personal preferences.

Hmmm, good question. I no longer have the ASG-2 unfortunately. You can try PMing Eke or Vwinter. Eke has my Rockets with the Sure Seal tips and Vwinter has a pair of Rockets as well. I'm sure one of them can shed some light on your question. I can only answer questions pertaining to seal and such. FWIW, the Rockets tips are similar to the Ortofons in size, shape and opening diameter. Where they differ is that the Rockets tips are very soft, have a gel like, cushion feel, and the surface is very tacky to aid in seal quality. They also mold to the shape of your ear canal over time. I think they're excellent and of a very novel design myself. Whether you note any changes in SQ is a whole other thing though

The IE800 is more balanced in my opinion, with smoother progression from frequency bands to one another. The ASG-2.5 has much crisper vocals and feels more alive and intimate. With the better isolation in the ASG-2.5 and comparable sound quality overall, I prefer the 2.5's. Don't get me wrong though, the IE800 is a very close second that will be missed by my ears.

I have to admit I found the IE800 very odd sounding to my ears. It didn't sound natural at all.

I have the extra long single flange from Meelectronics M11+ set. It works nicely for that.

Speaking of tips, I really like these, they give me a perfect seal with the ASG 2.5's as well as a few other earphones that I tried them on. They are also very comfortable.

Hey guys,

I just bought nehcrows asg 2 with the 2.5 bass driver and I am wondering what the best cable that fits under 40$ would be? Suggestions are highly appreciated. Thanks

I dont know of many cables that are under 40. Noble offers theyre noble cable at 40 dollars and you're getting a fantastic cable for it. Thing is the noble cable's 2 pin doesnt support recessed sockets. You could possibly ask them if they could make a noble cable for you that uses recess socket supporting 2pin?

I'll try that out. Thanks for the reply! Also, would this cable work? http://www.amazon.com/FiiO-RC-WT1-re-cable-Westone-Earphones/dp/B00D6DOYEQ thanks

I dont believe those support recessed sockets. I would double check to make sure though

agree with cotnijoe, not many cables out there under 40$. I think the stock cable is pretty good.

I know someone using the westone 2 pin replaceable cables with his 2.0's. $66 slightly above your budget (comes in clear/black/beige)

Replacement Aurisonics cables are $36

I got this cable, and it gave me sound through one side and when touching the plug sound comes and goes through the other side,

The cable was torn out near the plug. For sure this will not happen every time, i must be one unlucky guy.

but it also had very bad microphonics.

Unless there is other reason you don't want to go stock, at 36$ stock is great.

Yes it does fit the ASG2 nicely. Sonic improvements over stock cable too. Bringing out better sonic details, tighter bass. Treble extended slightly too. Under $40 this would be the best option.

I picked up a silver dragon cable. Nice cable, but I don't know if I'll continue to support an arrogant owner. I would just recommend picking up another aurisonics cable, they are good quality, good sound, some of the best human beings you will deal with.
