But that's the thing...there is none. I'm guessing it might be that the differing materials hay have an effect on the speed with which the signals reach the drivers.

Man I wish I had a spectral analyzer handy.

If there is none than the impedance change of the cable just wasn't significant enough. Time domain is frequency dependent and generally wouldn't make a difference if the FR remained the same, that change [speed of which signal reaches driver] is a impedance difference.
The dynamic is full range. Would that make a difference to your statement?

Nope, the impedance curve is still not linear.

This is my logic as well. Copper will sound like a copper cable unless you have magic ears that can hear different purities. But silver and gold have different conductivities from copper so the sound should vary a bit for better or worse...

Do pure gold cables exist? For IEMs.

They are usually gold core with silver sheath or visa versa. I think that is what eke has right now.

So amazingly enough, my G-2 which was scheduled for delivery for today, went out for delivery, was delivered and yet... I don't have my phones :l

So now I got a case open. Hope this is just some weird postal service snafu and I'll get em on Monday

Ridiculous...

I know this is going to sound silly but have you checked your mailbox? They put the small flatrate boxes in my mailbox and it throws me off sometimes.

Also, this happened to me once and it was delivered the next day. Hope you get it resolved. =(

You are lucky and I am disappointed. Next week is the 8th week since I sent my ASG-1 back for upgrade.

What was wrong with the AS-2's? Stealth body with gold plates right, hit your link up.

Channel imbalance.

I'd guess that they just got in a shipment of parts they needed and are ramping up production?

Well.... my ASG-1s are officially in Nashville according to USPS... now I wait...

Ok, there is a definite difference in cables. I've spent the last 30 minutes A/B'ing the stock and translucent cable using a 10 second snippet of Mumford and Sons' Below My Feet.

There's a point between 1:01 and 1:12 where he hums a simple melody. On the stock cable, his voice sounds bloated and a bit tubby. Switching to the translucent cable cleans it up considerably.

The same effect can be heard on The Script's "This = Love". The snare impact is a good deal snappier with the translucent cable.

I'm starting to question everything I believed. If cables change the sound, does that mean the Earth really isn't flat? And please don't tell me that the sun doesn't actually revolve around the Earth.

Cables aside, I'm really liking this "new" 1Plus2 much more than the one I heard before. It retains the same technical performance of that pair, without the treble glare and overly recessed mids. I'm actively trying to produce treble glare and sibilance with it, but I'm failing...except with the tracks that are inherently hot.

The 1P2 and ASG-2 are truly world class earphones.

I need this damn cable in my life.

Guess the earth is flat.

Just to clarify, you're doing this cable A/Bing on the 1p2?

Both, but mostly the ASG-2.

One possibility is that the cable doesn't allow me to get as deep a seal as the stock one does, due to the way it's angled. See:

Thankfully the post office flubbed their delivery and I've got the G-2 in my ears at the moment. Screwin around with the Tralucent S/G cable as well now that Eke has brought up that he can hear differences. I'll be listening intently in the coming days in preparation of a write up. Then I'll send my S/G 1P2 over to VWinter so he can do some listenin' of his own. Hopefully he'll have his G-2 by then.
