I'm looking for a  good pair of headphones for about $80 or less.
They will only be used at home with my laptop and/or my ipod.
They will be mainly for music, but i'd like to use them for movies and games too.
I don't really care how they look, they just need to have great sound quality and be a bit comfortable.
I need Bass too, not too much of course, but i love to hear that deep pulse (heartbeat) that some good headphones produce when listening to electronic music.
If you can't find any for under $80, then maybe go a little more expensive.
thanks in advance.

Welcome to Head-Fi!  Here are some recomendations for ya!

These have a  closed back desing as in noise isolating:

Sennheiser HD 228, HD 428, HD 438

Denon AH-D310, D501, D510

These have an open back design as in little or no sound isolation:

Sennheiser HD 238, HD 515, HD 555

Audio-Technica ATH-AD700

Grado SR60i

All of these 'phones can be had for around 80 dollars or less, are easily driven by your laptop or ipod, and are capable options especially when looking at the Sennheisers, Audio-Technicas and Grados.  If you don't need the sound isolation the HD 515 or 555, AD700 or SR60i are your best bet.

Wow thanks, i'm interested in the Grado, but since i'm buying on Amazon.com; they have the Grado SR60i and the SR80i.
The SR80i seems newer, should i just get that one, or is the Grado SR60i better for some reason?
thanks a lot for the advice!

Maybe spend 99 euro's and take Allessandro MS-1
(if you don't know that, hit a search for that model in this forum, you'll find loads of info on it, they're 'modified' Grado's, great value for that kind of money, on most peoples opinion)

the SR60i bass is nice, but I always use the Bass Boost on my Zen when I use them. For around 30 bucks you could get Koss Portapros, once those are burned in they give the 60s a run for the money overall and the Bass on the PortaPros is better. Just be aware when you first get them they don't sound too very good. But for 30 you won't be disapointed, after a few hundred hours you'll think you could've spent a lot more.

You'll be happy with the SR-60i. It is one of the traditional entry points here and it has made tens of thousands of Head-Fi'ers happy. I hope you enjoy them. :)

Welcome =]

Alright go with the beyerdynamic dtx900.
Absolutely amazing for the price of 80 dollars new on amazon and they sound better than the sr80 in terms of the low-end.
