I mean in terms of sound character and signature, how does the Phantom differ from i4 aside from the fact that one is open back and the other one is closed?

Thanks!
Sorry, but that comparison will have to wait until I get the Phantom as I only had my Mellianus with me at the time when I tried them.

Well written review, thanks for sharing!

They are interesting IEMs, but I am a former Trinity customer and while it is unfair to Bob (he is a nice guy), it has made me very reluctant about IMR. Not in the least because Bob has opted for similar design features such as using silly proprietary cable connectors. But then again, these sound like they are really good fun and it all seems to be a fresh start for Bob, which I hope works out well because he has some cool ideas (like the wheel).

Thanks buddy, appreciated.

Luckily I haven't ventured down the Trinity path of destruction but I took a chance on these and it payed out. Honestly I also think that is why my review is so positive, I went in with no real expectations. Of course that is possible with a product that costs 300£, I would never take a chance on a 1k product for example.

Thanks for sharing. I will be reviewing these IEMs not too long from now. Good to know they are quality.

In my opinion they are. I am looking forward to reading your take on these!

I must share this as well :D Not much info yet, some say it is only for dealers (drug dealers, already did that one), but in China some shops say they will sell it (at a ridiculous price)

Dear All,

I know some of you are interested in the Hidition NT8, I got some insight from Hidition on the signature. I could get a pair, but not right now as I have too much on my hands already.

So basically, the NT8 will be neutral / bright like the NT6 but with :
  • More clarity (how is that possible)
  • More details
  • A larger stage
  • Less / no sibiliance
  • Slightly more body / power in the bass
So overall better, like taking the best from NT6 and Viento.

Sounds exciting knowing what Hidition can do.

Hello folks, I thought I'd share some initial impression on the beautiful Nerva X from HYLA.

I just listened for a couple of hours at this stage, so this is really an initial feeling.

Obviosuly, they are a marvel to look at, and very comfortable, not too large. Another good thing is that the sound is NOT very tip dependent for some reason, which is less of a hassle. I settled on the JVC Spiral Dots at this stage.

The general philosophy here seems to be musical and refined. Visceral, well-grounded and control bass, smooth and clear mids, non-aggressive yet detailed highs. Staging seems excellent, not excessively large but reasonably so with excellent imaging. They overall tonality is on the warm side, with a lot of realism.

The thing that strikes me the most is the smoothness of sound and transition between frequencies. The people at Hyla sure know how to tune 10 drivers in a coherent manner.

It might benefit from a brighter / airier source (which I don't really have), but with the WM1Z, I am going all in smooth musical full bodied and it is nice.
