We would like to again thank all the people who purchased the QP1R and for your continued support. We will continue to support the QP1R and continue to offer service for any problems you should encounter.

I'm using the new firmware and am baffled by the inability to have a working battery readout, a staple from every DAP I’ve owned irrespective of price. This battery readout continues to malfunction, rapidly decreasing while in the fifties, then skipping through the thirties and reverting back to an inaccurate 100 before quickly running out of power. What gives? Why can't this be solved?

Question to last few posts ... for people still having issues ... were your QP1R’s among the first produced or were they made further along?

I’m asking because my unit was made during the first big batch.

I’ll be installing new FW this weekend...

I have 2 QP1R’s

One was purchased when they first came out .. I was on a waiting list for months

Serial # 10709100065

The newer item has

Serial # 10709502031

I am no expert but it looks like the last 5 digits are the unit #

The first 5 digits are the product #

And the digit in the 6th position is the production run? or maybe the color, I have both a gold & a gray

My first had the battery issue big time

The newer one has been better with no real issues as the first

Just some random thoughts and speculations on my part ...

I also have 2 QP1R’s and their SN’s are in the range 1070950xxxx both had issues with the indicator showing an empty battery in the 80% range. I just installed the 1.09 fw last night when both were fully charged and started to drain until empty. Both shutdown in 4-6% range. They are being charged as I write this and will update more as I want to get a couple more cycles in just to be sure but this seems to be a good fix so far. Also, I could be mistaken but noticed that the brightness level goes to 10 now with this fw instead of 6. Helped withe the drainage of the battery.

That's interesting, I was wondering about the s/n format. Mine's 10709100099, I was an early adopter too.

That's now my present status after the latest firmware update. Previously, an empty battery showed a 30% range. I suspected this firmware update wouldn't solve the problem when 97% held steady for an inordinate amount of time.

Interesting. The S/N in full was 0000433, according to the little card that came in the box. Though now, I'm wondering if I remember it correctly. Are your S/Ns taken from that card, or are they writen on the unit, somewhere?

Rolled back my brightness to 3 to hopefully save a bit of drainage. Set shut-off of screen to 30-seconds; may go less if I can.
