i understand that er4p's are IEM's compared to the px100s, but i just broke my er4p's (very sad

) and i'm looking for some new portables. I saw the im716 at buy.com for 45$ ish and got em as a gift for my friend.

i was very pleased with the er4p's after upgrading from my er6i's, but now i'm kinda broke so i'm not sure if i should buy another pair since christmas is coming up.

how does the sound quality compare from the er4p's and the px100s? my friends always tells me that it's annoying they cant call out my name from a short distance cus i got the IEM's on. the px100's are noise canceling right? which would you prefer? should i go with the im716 if it's a budget thing? i might be able to catch some px100s for 45$.

my surroundings aren't that loud so i don't need IEM's noise isolations often.

As much as I love my px100s I don't think that they'll match er4p's in sound quality. The sound signature will be lot different also. More coloured, which may annoy someone loving the neutral Ety-sound.

Px100s are open, not noise cancelling (at all).
