Whoa - that Dark Matter is very cool.

Yeah..
I think Steve is reinventing his earlier Guitar-self with this song, and perhaps with the album... (Ive not heard it).
This particular song "Dark Matter" sounds like vintage "early Vai", just after he left Zappa's group and was creating his "Flexible" album.
Its a happy return to his "trippy" form, = regarding what he does best on an Ibanez Jem guitar.
I think he wrote his most E-GTR original music on his "Flexible" album, just before he joined David Lee Roth's band, and then WhiteSnake.

So no one is talking about the withe album anniversary edition, highly recommend it to everyone. One of the if not the most important and influential album of all time. The new stereo mix is in my opinion the most stunning work of art, that has ever been released in this format.

Yeah, we're talking about it here >>> https://www.head-fi.org/threads/wha...ease-read-them.253245/page-5551#post-14594024
Don't you think it's a bit of a stretch to talk about "The White Album" - one of the best POP records of all time - in a PROG ROCK thread? "The White Album" is no "Sgt. Peppers"!
Aren't we flooded with enough virtuoso guitar players like Steve Vai and alike that are supposedly doing some sort of "voodoo glam (prog?)" at best?

Later Edit:
On a second thought, I do think that we should have a broader thread for GOOD music. But define "good music"... It means different things to different people. But I find myself often wanting to talk about a great album that is not PROG and not finding a place for it :)
So sorry for the harsh tone above :)
The White Album new remix is truly a work of art, for an album that is more than POP, it has so many nuances and influences that would be a mistake to try and categorize it. Hell... "Helter Skelter" is maybe the first heavy metal song in history.

There ya go! FullBrightOne sensed that you don't know how to browse YouTube so he force fed you another bunch... (same as last time, a few pages back)
So now you don't have to buy that new Blu-ray no more! Saved you some money too!
I've got issues... I know.
