Dude, I finally got around to checkin' this album out and it rips! It's got some great tracks on it. Thanks for pushing me to give it a spin. 🙏😎

To keep things topical, I'm listening to one last album before I've got to head out and it's a good one. There's a Greek band name Unison Effect that plays a synth heavy style of prog that I'm really enjoying. Right now I'm listening to their first album, The Arrival, from 2023. It uses the synths to explore a more psychedlic sound while their second LP, The Invasion, from last year takes those same synths and leans into a kinda prog meets 80s synth rock kinda sound though both have carryover sounds and stylistic choices from the other. Both are cool in their own way and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on these fellas to see where else they take their sound.

The Arrival (rel. 2023) by Unison Effect

The Invasion (rel. 2024) by Unison Effect

Really like these, right up my alley, reminds me somewhat of Eloy. great stuff cheers for the Rec. Shame these an are the only two releases (on Qobuz anyway).

XM1 - this was ok and a few excellent sections, but does tend to meander a bit between the good bits, lots of repeating motifs which slowly morph into new themes, just not quite enough of the really good bits to support the journey IMO.

Israeli symphonic prog rock. The band was formed in Tel-Aviv 2017. worth a listening to.

Just one listen of this so far but I like it and it will definitely be getting a few more spins to see how it soaks in, many thx

I'm glad you dug 'em. Now that you mention it, they do have a bit of an Eloy vibe to them. Good call!

P.S. It's unfortunate, but as far as I am aware, those two are their only releases to date.

As far as XM1 is concerned, I think you hit the nail on the head. I'd like to see them put out another album with a but more focus and a more concise approach to their songwriting, but they've got a ton of potential, IMO.

To keep things topical I've got a bit of a weird rec for you guys today. A friend of mine sent me this album as a gift on Bandcamp. Apparently it was created as a game soudtrack to a game entitled Cult of the Lamb. It has a bunch of really cool prog-metal cuts on it and I've been really enjoying it so far.

Edit: @TylerPatrick you've got some staples of any good prog library in that list. Nicely done! 😎
