As someone commented on YT, "The Leprous is strong in this one."
But now I think it's about time they stop with the singles... I want to hear the whole album! No more spoilers :)
...One more week!

I'm beyond giddy with excitement waiting on this album to drop. Those who know me in real life (not the interwebs) know I'm not really excited about anything, unless there's gear in the mail I've purchased and am waiting on receiving. Kinda morose sense of humor and depressing by nature - that's just me these past couple years. But this.... this got me perked up. And more than any gear I've purchased this past year.

One long long week to go. In the meantime, I'll enjoy the foreplay (singles). ha ha?

Agree! Veil is a classic Haken track. Really need to see them on their upcoming tour.

All I expected and more! Great album!
indeed. wish there was another 7 or 8 minute track. But the quality of every damn song is there. This album brings all of Haken's albums back around full circle. There's a little of something from each album past in this new one.

'Veil' starts off very reminiscent of songs from their earlier works like 'visions' and 'aquarius' with piano covered by smooth vocals.
'nil by mouth' has the funky chicken syncopated synth riffs similar to 'cockroach king' from 'the mountain'
'good doctor' feels eerily like 'initiate' off of 'affinity' with it's immediate drive

this is not recycled material. it's just a testament to how true they are to their sound while still maturing as music writers. Best album to date when you look at the entirety of it!

Now that you made the connections, I'll have to re-listen to their older albums :)
But yes, even from memory - the coherence, musical and technical quality, and the production level of this latest offering qualifies it as their best.

My daughter and her friends were over for Halloween tonight carving pumpkins. It only seemed appropriate that I indoctrinate them with some scary prog lol
