Frankly I have had the Monica long enough as have a few friends I turned onto here, weird, anyway, and I have compared her to my home Ultimate Dac that I don't care what they write. I know what I hear and Monica takes no prisoners. Great liquidity, bass punch, dynamics in all frequency spectrums, transparency and width and depth, all of course If the music is recorded well. Nope, don't care, she sounds good but I have worked on her a bit as she is not stock, no sir, Monica is super charged.

On the Predator, Ray states that if you don't want to wait for the burn-in then don't buy one. That seems simple to me. But in the wait you will be rewarded, at least in my opinion and that of some others. Hey, it's all good.

Great fun, isn't it. What advances these last couple of years have made. On caps, there is a manufacture of a new teflon cap that burns their caps in because it takes so long for them to form. I have read of over 1000 hours and more.

You quoted: Ray states that if you don't want to wait for the burn-in then don't buy one.
Your absolutely right.

oh the earlier days...

sad part is I don't think the sound quality has risen that much higher since those days, just a change of opamps, change of battery types, and of course the smaller package....
then again G.I. Joe and Hot Wheels cars have not changed all that much from that time also....damn toy markets...

no kidding; feel bad for ppl just trading one mediocre sounding amp for another, ie tomahawk was worse than SR71, Predator wasn't any better, and apache is the ultimate souped up version of SR71. Now, B52, that's the good stuff, too bad it costs so much.

I would think there are plenty of people that would disagree with you and while what we post is our opinion making blanket statements that much of the line of amps from a manufacture are mediocre, when many have a much different opinion doesn't do much for the credence of your statement or opinion. The anonymity that the web can give people, sadly at times, a more harsh approach than we would have face to face.

And there are plenty of people that would agree with him. Believe it or not, there are people out there who believe that RSA amps are not so special.

only speaking from experience; noticing how I didn't comment on the Pico since I haven't heard it yet.

If we were meeting in person I would tell you the same thing: 1) get which ever portable that float your boat for portable use; 2) save up and go for the top

while thinking about B52, I almost forgot the Raptor, another one of Ray's master pieces.

RSA amps are the best period!

However, I missed out the introductory sale though. I wonder if Ray will do a sale again...like valentine's day sale or something like that. I've got SR-71, Hornet #104.

There's an opinion that not everyone agrees with.

Sometimes its nice to know what first hand knowledge peoples opinions are based on though.

Given some of the posts on this forum, its not as obvious as you might think.

I knew it was obvious to everyone who'd actually heard a variety of amps in several price ranges.

As to my quickness...well. We can leave the reply that's appropriate to be assumed by knowledgable readers.
