Last November's post-Thanksgiving road trip. Mono Lake was a bust because of the snow, so after a brief stay in Mammoth Mountain we went down...
...and proceeded to our real destination for the week (why my friend and I flew in from Asia) - Death Valley.
All taken with an X100 and WCL-X100 wide converter, plus a Kenko CPL filter and the built-in ND filter that goes over the sensor.

Back from my Japan trip, can't be bothered to lower the resolution so can't post the best ones.

More corporate stuff from the same shoot as before, this time converted to B&W.
This was the money shot for the CEO, so he needed to appear somewhat authoritative.
The idea was to provide this photograph for interview purposes, so this shot takes on more of an editorial style while remaining accessible with commercial-grade clarity and contrast.
Thus, he was shot from neck/chest level so that he's looking down at the lens, and the beauty dish is up high and gridded for dramatic light fall-off.
The beauty dish really is a great light modifier that flatters both women and men and can prove useful in a lot of diverse lighting setups.
It imparts great contrast but isn't a super specular "hard light".
There's an edge light behind the subject on camera right, while the subject falls into shadow camera left.
The only retouching done was some healing brushwork to get rid of distracting stray hairs; took two minutes to do.
I purchased a copy of Serif Affinity Photo, the new Photoshop competitor. It's better than any alternative so far, if only because it's so similar to Ps, but I'm still getting used to the minor differences.

Some practice shots with my little model.
This one is me playing with distortion again. I know most photographers hate distortion - I like creating it

Some great shots!
I like distortion when it's intentional, and serves a purpose. What I don't like (same with grain/flare/etc) is when it appears to be just someone who doesn't understand their tools.
Wow, one of the best photos I've ever seen on this thread.
Thank you very much!

This is from a famous stretch of the Danube River, called Wachau. It's tourist hell in summer, but serene tranquility in winter. (Sigma DP0, original size is 10MB)

And here's another one from higher up that hillside. Left some of my blood there wrestling upwards through the brush... but the view was worth it.
