Oh, I also found out my K1000 is even more ancient than I thought. I was reading the AKG forums where someone asked when his #039xx were made and they said '90, mine are #014xx

Good point, I bought a Transit off the FS forums here. I still need to change my sig, the Audiophile was just too big and clunky, I needed something smaller. Plus it required external power and I only have 2 outlets behind the sofa, which meant the Audiophile had to be run across the room with a surge bar. And I had no use for its additional features like the headphone amp, midi in/out so it's off to the chopping block.

Yeah, I am using mine as a DAC as well, until funds/motivation allow otherwise. I should have gone for something more specialised really, but the M-Audio I could buy in this country with much easier warranty and stuff. It just made more sense.
