Could be on backwards. I's been a while since I've had any grados to hand, but IIRC that looks like what you see when you turn the pad around.

I think the pad on the Grados is on right but i'll check it when i get home from work. The cups kind of spin around when those phones sit so they always look funny to me. Those are actually recabled for portable use, i got them when i was looking for a pair of full sized cans to ware out and about and they ended up being good for dog walks because it is relatively quiet and if i talk to people on the walk i can still hear them as well as whats going on around me. Otherwise i use the esw9s up there. The pride and joy though is the new Zana Deux tube amp sitting on the console, that thing is just blowing me away.
