We have a futon as well. It's on the other side of the room under my room mate's loft. I can take a few more pictures if you want to see the whole thing. It's pretty sweet.

edit: hey, 100 posts!

The PPA's bass boost really helps to add authority/weight/punch to the CD3000 (unlike the Darkvoice THA-336i I tried, though that may be a result of the tubes I used). I see no reason to upgrade or really try any other headphone right now. I'm really satisfied with this rig.

That's great, especially considering how concerned you were at various stages along the way. I'm still amazed how persistent you were in finding that DA100. Really, unless you could drop multi-$k into your rig, it wouldn't really sound better per se, just different. So if this suits you very well, might as well stick with it. That's definitely where I'm at right now.

Here are a few pics after setting up my new racks from Core Designs. I gotta take some more pics and get some headphones in there, but this will give you the basic idea. JP#s helped me set this up over the weekend, and Foo_Me tagged in for some final shifting of speakers, etc., after JP took off. I think the team effort paid off!

The cost per rack was $875, but you have to understand their construction to judge whether it is worth the cost. I think that they are great and the CLD shelves are as absorbent of vibration and resonance as anything I have seen. The shipping materials and packaging are stellar -- really amazing. Check them out on their site and on Audiogon, but here are the specs for the ones I used:

MOD3 Three Level Modular Audio Rack $875

Solid American Black Walnut
CLD inner core is filled with granite, iron, and lead.
Dadoed post for easy assembly. 2" x 3" x 26" (3 level) 35" (4 level).
Additional damping and RF shielding is provided by 60Mil sheet of
Constrained layered damping butyl, foil, and polyethelene.

Ext. Dimensions: 27-1/2"H x 23-3/4"W x 20-1/2"D
Shelf Dimensions: 1-3/4"Thick x 22"W x 19"D
Upper Level: 9"H x 20"W x 19"D
Lower level:11"H x 20"W x 19"D
