They look pretty sweet, but for my needs, I don't think it's really worth it. The missions aren't the best speakers in the world, but one of their big advantages is that they aren't that directional, so you can be quite off-axis and they still sound okay. Plus, if I really want fidelity, I'm going to be on a headphone rig.

If I'm listening to speakers, chances are I am doing something else at the same time, and not really THAT worried about the sound, and if anything, I want a less engaging sound, so I can concentrate on the essay I'm supposed to be writing. Also, I hope at some point soon to get my BIG speakers up, which would negate any need for $100 of stands I don't really need... tempting as they are...

You can find Wood Technology stand for fairly cheap if you shop around. I've been looking for ~30" stands for some bookshelf speakers and found the FGH-31E which retail for $90 on Wood Tech's site for $60 new on eBay. Cheapo speaker stands are really not worth it because they are very unstable. The old cheapo stands that I have feel like a light bump would cause them to collapse.

I moved the Mhdt labs DAC (Renaissance II) over to the Super T-amp setup, with great results. The mellow sound of this DAC acts like a tube pre-amp in how it sounds in the end. I use my Sony MDR-7506 phones with a cmoy amp in this room when I need headphones.

Looking really good.
The Apache fit in nicely with the other silver gear...

Tbln,
Now aren't you glad that you went with the silver P500 instead of the black one?

Nice looking Skyline diffusors you have on your wall. Did you make them yourself or bought from somewhere?

Those are made in Taiwan. 2 different version. Basic and painted. Painted has some sort of absorption material on the paint. It works really well. get rid of 70% of the echo from the back wall. I need more though, it works the best if you have 9 or 16, I have a plasma TV in the middle so. I am thinking of putting 4 more pieces on top and bottom. My TV stand resonates and vibrate a lot, gotta upgrade that. and buy some vibrapod for my source.

OK that explains it better. I thought it was an HCA-2, and I thought that was an awfully big amp to drive K1000's.

Just to clarify.

It is a HCA-2 and yes, I am glad I got the silver one.

Size does matter

That's a great amp. I have the PCA-2, and I keep thinking of getting an HCA-2 even though I currently own active speakers.

Wow, I was completely fooled. They used the same exact chassis as the P-500 power regenerator (I own 2...1 in silver, 1 in black).

I made a booboo

You're off the hook. My PCA-2 looks exactly the same as well except for the volume knob.
