Just get them darthed right away by Larry.
Larry from Headphile can provide a brand new DT700 and darth them right away. That way you save yourself the $$$+hassle of shipping your DT770 to Larry to be darthed.

I agree. I thought that Larry charges $145 for the stock 770 (I'm NOT sure). I bought my 770 at Guitar Center for around $160 total. It only took a couple weeks before I decided to send them off.

Yes, unless you're doing something unique - purchasing dt770/80 from Larry and Darthing at the same time is the only sensible way of doing it. My personal preference has become using 32 ohm drivers - but that is more involved and costly. In my case, I had bought a pair with screwed drivers (diy rewirer) and got drivers from Beyer. Didn't try to uncover costs of buying all of the individual Beyer parts seperately to be turned over to Larry.............getting dt770 and send to him does not make economic sense.

LOL. Not a chance of that, actually. Larry is VERY firm on the idea that the Deals page is first come, first served. If I had "right of first refusal", you can bet that those Amboyna Burl deep-cups would have been mine! As much as I love the Black Palm ones, I REALLY wanted the Amboyna Burls....

Rob (Monsieur Skylab), How does the sound of the Black Palms compare with your Paduak? The palms are slightly less deep - or so Larry implied. Any sound difference?
