It should, because they're every bit as good as their hype, which is an extremely rare thing.

Stax SR-009

Congrats on the Kings!

You must have one the finest headphone collections on here now, theres not many who own both HE90 and SR-009.

Thanks!

Although I don't have the HE90 anymore (need to update the sig)

IMO the 009 is vastly superior.

I too owned both, but now only have the 009's - the HE90s simply arent as good!

HE-90 owners usually insinuate the contrary... but hey, I would also defend my 15k+ headphone if I were them

Wish I could judge. Probably won't ever own either of them... (Maybe in my next life, since I've been so good in this one

)

Also, there hasn't been much talk of the SR009's in Mr Mahlers thread...? Thought there would have been mayhem!

Lol a SR009 is the next and only headphone left in my "Buying list" in my profile... but I'm stuck with loads of student loan debts and about to give up on school after starting over three different baccalaureates (paying for four years of university) and failing at each of them.

Yet I'm confident that I'm going to get one in a few years (even on a crappy job), by saving up money.

Mmmm... As a parent of a 20 year old, I maybe shouldn't be saying this but.. Good luck! and tell me what they are like when you get em!

Correct, the HE90s aren't as revealing or as balanced. I think I may even prefer the HE60s over their big brothers, with my WES they're epic (not an exaggeration).

Browsing through What Hi-fi magazine this month briefly, I noticed there was an advert for the HD800 and in the corner a little pic of the HE90's. Thought it was odd. When did they stop making them?
