Maybe it is just the picture? The bumper is removable on the black unit anyway.

Yeah, they totally took them off. I was the one who helped the Pioneer guys at RMAF/CanJam take the bumpers off one of their demo units, both to show how it looked and also to allow people to plug into it if their HP plugs were not properly shaped to fit by the bumper on top. Cheers

In the manual its says use earphones rated between 16 and 300 ohms and outside this range may result in damage.
Damage to what?Is this a given,my daily workhorses are my AT im-70,s which are 10ohms (108db)surely these are ok to use with the dap?

Does anyone have feedback on how loud this player is?

I have read a couple of reviews with one person saying it lacks headroom and another saying it's too loud.

I currently use the Nokia N91 which has it's own amp/DAC and it is more than powerful enough. I also have a Galaxy note 4 which is rooted and volume boosted but obviously the sound quality isn't as good as the Pioneer would be.

Thank you

I just finished verifying my Paypal account, and I placed an order with Pricejapan this morning.   I am in Western Canada, so hopefully I will get this before Xmas, but I did EMS shipping, so...we will see.
