Unpacked mine yesterday.
Did not have time to listen to it thoroughly but first impressions are very good. I like what I hear so far with my Ety in balanced mode.
And yes, it reminds me the pha-3 in balanced mode.

Does anyone know if the Pioneer DAP's support the new Sandisk 256gb microSD cards for a total of 544gb storage space?

It's Active Ground Control and works only on Balanced, since it controls how the grounds of both channels work.
