For those who are looking for a protable protective case, Pelican can be a good option.

1020 fits well but when the DAP is "naked". Not sure if it fits if you put a leather case on the DAP.

What volume level are you guys listening at?

I went to a local store to listen to XDP-300R. Even in-store I had it around 130 (160 is max, correct me it in wrong). I'm not sure it'll pump up in an outdoor environment.

Tested using IEM which is supposedly easy to drive.

Well, it has 4 levels of Gain (2 low, normal, high) and the Balanced output is 2 times more powerful than the SE. I listen to the SR (45 ohm) at 120-130 at NORMAL gain, Balanced.

I'm listening at 80-90 with variable line out mode turned on (which is supposed to bypass the UK limiter). Singled ended for now but I plan on going balanced which should be even better. Sounds plenty loud for me right now. I'll go up to 100 for certain genres of music that require it.

Does anyone know how Canadians or Americans can get their hands on the official case for the XDP-300R?

Also in need of a screen protector. I saw this tempered glass one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/LifeBox-Tempered-Digital-Protection-Premium/dp/B01JKGP30G

Thank you for the response.

I will drop by another day at the store and explore the "variable line out" mode. Do not have a balanced cable with me, hopefully the store may have one for me to try out.

Am looking for a DAP. So far, apart from trying to figure out what is 'holding the sound back', I like what I read about the XDP-300R's specifications, the snappy and quick UI, available connectivity options.

It doesnt play well connected to an audiolab mdac
And by that i mean it point blank refuses to work at all with it. Even with priper usb otg cables.
Works with my portable dac ( creative X5)

Be wary if using an external dac. But tbh in my case connecting via analogue to the anp is better as the dacs are so good.

Loving the XDP-300R so far. The UI is awesome and the menus and loading of files is very snappy. Oh, and it sounds great too :p

Works great with my 2x Sandisk 200GB cards. Spotify offline mode works flawlessly however it only seems to be able to store data on the internal memory + SD card 1 slot. SD card slot 2 does not show up in Spotify but I am guessing that is a limitation of the Spotify app itself. Not really a big deal to me as the one card is plenty.

Transfer of music files (MP3 & FLAC) from my computer was easy as pie, simple drag and drop in Windows. Don't even need to use the XDAP Link software.

Overall a real quality product from Pioneer.
