Not sure how to assure anyone that there are no issues anymore, read the above problems as well. Can only say mine hasn't had any problems as of yet (have had it about 6 months).

I rolled a dollop of Sugru into the spaces around both jacks -- as someone way back in the thread suggested.

That would seem to prevent movement, but I still insert and remove gingerly and try to avoid any unnecessary jerking around when listening.

Mine lives a pretty cozy, sedentary life.

Have used it for reviews, which means lots of unplugging and replugging, no problems so far (I may just be lucky).

I have an adapter to be able to use my balanced cable in the single ended jack... Seems to me it would be more stress 9n the Jack.

It isn't just vertical movement that causes problems it is also any slight horizontal stress too. Mine broke when in my trouser pocket when walking, the slight stress of the jack pressing against my upper leg when walking caused it to break.

Mine comes with a bit of effort; exactly how I want it. I can slide my player in an out as needed (for thorough cleaning). No problems at all. I will say that the volume wheel is the source for most of the resistance in my case.

I was able to take the case off by putting two objects at bottom on each side and pushing down. The volume wheel causes the most resistance. I agree we do not need to take the case off often, but I was trying to insert a new micro sd card. Won't be taking it off anytime soon.

Speaking of the 2.5mm port, how bad is the issue? I am considering to purchase the 2.5mm Litz cable from Campfire Audio for my W40s.

I broke the 2.5 mm port on my DP-X1A but 300R did not have this problem, at least before I sold it out). To my knowledge it still fine and a new owner does not have any issue with the balanced port.
