This is the setup I keep at work. NWA45 running the awesome Mr. Walkman firmware. I was just about ready to give up on this thing when I discovered the custom firmware. It really does open up the sound on this player and makes it a lot more tweakable. The in-ears are Awei ES800. I bought them about a decade ago for like 8 bucks and I can't seem to get rid of them. They're not the most comfortable fit for my ears but the bass and lower midrange are so outrageously good that I'm willing to tolerate the pain. When I say I've tried literally dozens of in-ears in the sub-$50 range to replace these, I'm not exaggerating. I just can't quit them.

At home I have a Rockboxed Clip+ with Moondrop Quarks that is very, very good, albeit I have to jack the bass up to like +15 to get the low end I want - but it works really well.
