Hi !
Don't have anything to show yet, just a quick question. What was the highest impedance value of the headphones you've used your iPhone 4 with? I am thinking of 80ohm dt770.

There's more than the impedence to think of - you also have to consider the efficiency of the 'phone (in exactly the same way you would consider the "ease of drive" for 'speakers).

I believe the DT770/80 is 105/1mW but they have a reputation for being relatively difficult to drive without an amp. If you want the 770's, get them and try them. If the iPhone struggles, then you can always add a cheap amp to tide you over.

Thank you for a quick reply. The whole trouble is that I don't want to kill the portability factor (an amp would make me have to sit down to listen). There's a 32ohm version but they're overpriced (in Poland it's $180 vs $250) and these also might compromise on quality. I will keep researching until I make my mind.

*** is it really necessary to quote the whole post and all of the pictures for one question?

I pray ancient imprecatory prayers each time someone does that. If they are having bad days, it's not karma, it's me and my wrath.
