Yeah I was curious if it wasn't a 5D markII or something.  The G-series is great.  I liked the feel and build of the G10 over the 11 though.  I only wish I could get that level of resolution in the S95 w/ sdxc and I'd be set.  Thanks!

The G11 is garbage. They used the decent G10 sensor and boosted the megapixels so high (from 10 to 16, IIRC) that it is very noisy and unusable at high ISO settings. The G12 is a decent one again.

Anaxilus, the G11 isn't garbage. The G11 happens to be disappointing to people that were expecting Canon to take the G10 a step further instead of a step to the side. It is still in the top 10 of best compact camera's currently available. Personally, I never understood the G10/G11/G12. It's too bulky for a compact and for the same amount of cash you can get a good entry-level DSLR. I much prefer the Canon S90/S95 and Panasonic LX3/LX5.

i have the g10 too and love it more so than the newer ones. its the only model that came with a metal body and leatherish trims. its an excellent performer under decent lighting. have any of you g-series owners tried the lensmate adapters? i bought a set over a year ago and its good stuff. changes the whole look and feel of the camera, almost like a minature dslr!

My bad. I meant it the exact other way around - the G11 is the one with 10mpx, while the G10 is the one with 15mpx - and the G10 is the noisy one. It's been some time since I had both for testing, and the 15mpx really made noticeably inferior photos in comparison to the 10mpx sensor. I got confused with their timeline.

I guess it's just not me afterall. lol. I do this when I'm comparing the IEMs. But I usually get stuck when the JH13s are in my ears.
