@MrProggie How do you like the Banzai v8, I was eyeing them before the price went up on fleabay.

I have only had it for a few days. In the beginning I felt it was a bit darker than my other cMOY which use OPA2227. Banzai v8 use the RC4556AD (haven't tested the other OP amp yet). But after about 20 hours of burn in the sound is not much different from OPA2227. Soundstage is not so wide, but a few more micro details is noticeable. I paid less than 30 US dollars which was why I bought one. I don't regret buying it at this price. It's very solidly built. Weight with battery is probably close to 200 gram.

The amp is still available on the internet for 34 US dollars, http://www.electricsumo.com/shop/category/headphone-amplifiers/banzai-morph-v8-cmoy-headphone-amps/.

I have just ordered dual AD797BR which RSA use in one of their desktop head amps.

797 is a very picky opamp, I would be surprised if it works all that well in an amp designed for 2227. so let me get this straight, you ordered an adapter with 2 x AD797BRZ (AD797 is a single channel opamp) on it for use in a 30 dollar amp? genuine parts should have cost you nearly double what the amp cost you. AD797 oscillates if not supplied well and needs bandwidth limiting. good luck with that

My turn.... been playing with double capping lately...hehehe gay sound

itouch 2g 8gig >> valgrind lod>>plexcio  caps>>alo jumbo cryo>>valgrind audio caps>>crossroads cryo copper>>sr71a>>hd650

Another shot using the nano 8gig instead. Fits well better, makes the caps look like a cube when tied together with the nano..lol

Hd650 with my own ultraportable cable. It is a diyed es2 cable to be a hd650 cable. Terminated with cardas on one side, viablue on the other. No more bulky 3m cables!! Now i can throw it all in a carrying case...

lol, yes totally redundant, in fact more than that, you will be causing all sorts of issues with the sound. but sure if you like the sound these errors create then power to you

Yes, I am aware of some of the issues with AD797BR. I am not going to use it in the amp with the 2227 amp. I am going to test it in the Banzai amp which has been made for op rolling.
I can of course not justify the cost, but that's the same with many of the purchases in this hobby. It was sold as old stock parts so it didn't cost that much.

ah I C, cool yeah I personally have not found there to be any noticeable difference to the ARZ, though I still use BRZ in regulators.

too right, the ends rarely justify the means in this game, doesnt stop us trying though :D

Have you seen the LOD available for the Fuze? I'd think it might pair slightly better w/the pa2v2 that way. I may be incorrect, but I'd think it's a slight upgrade in SQ that way.

Still, looks good - but slightly on the large side.
