The Switchcraft plug sure is a huge/long thing, but for that use it's the lesser of two evils, IMO - since the Neutrik angled plug sticks out way too far. I'm not aware of any lower profile DIY plugs than those two.

I'll agree to that. I've had some right angle neutrik cables and I absolutely hated those plugs. Their straight plugs is another story and probably my favorite plug.

proportionately maybe, overall, not so much, the switchcraft just looks more snug because its so chunky. best RA mini IMO is the oyaide then the neutrik, the switchcraft is so chgunky as to make it nearly useless for anything low profile, gets in the way of outputs or inputs its not supposed to and its internal structure only allows it to be trimmed back a few mm, where the neutrik and oyaide can be made quite tiny. the oyaide is a bit pricey, but not really any more than the switchcraft. its sexy, very well machined with tight tolerances, compact, with flat base to the pin and comes in gold or rhodium plate
