While the DAP is great, the amp leaves a bit to be desired. The Protector definitely has a better bass and feels more natural all around. I really wanted to see how good I could get a portable rig and found with my current rig that I can get pretty far indeed.

Have you thought about attaching the two devices end-to-end somehow to make the rig slimmer? If it could be done securely it might be worth it.

Really tempted to get the JH-13s but 1) Its $$$ 2) I have no idea where's a good audiologist in Singapore 3) Afraid of the hassle for refits if required >..<

25th Anniversary Portapros coming in soon!

You can try ACE Hearing at Ngee Ann City for S$40 if the price didn't change
I did mine at The Hearing Solution at the Carlton hotel for $30 but they increased the price a whole lot

Haha thanks! Yes they sound amazing. I went from Apple buds to in-ears which gave me my first wow factor. Then I took the plunge and bought my TF10s, which gave me a super WOW. The Fiio E5 followed and I was wowed once again. And finally the Shadow which gave another super WOW lol...

But I still think that the iQube sounded even more amazing. Didn't get it cos 1) Costs a bomb 2) Difficult to open up casing to replace batteries (understand that the internal charging circuit has problems charging rechargeables so better to charge em separately...)

Looking to replace my TF10 cables with Lune cables... gotta wait for my wife to get over my Shadow purchase tho lol...

justanut, would you be able to take a pic for me? Just one TF10 IEM laying straight (length wise) across the shadow? I'd love to see the size comparison

That shadow looks very, very small

Yes it is... like so many others have mentioned before, my wife too thought that the charger was it... until i lifted out the tiny red sack next to the charger that contained the amp lol... Small but very sturdily built. Unlike the iBasso T3d that I had auditioned, felt plasticky and fragile.

So you gonna get a Shadow?

Hehe. I would like to get one just for kicks, but if I were to even go back into portable amps again, I would get something like an iMod and an amp that fits it's dimensions next to perfectly. I find it difficult to hold a small amp attached to a large pmp etc

Ah... I almost got an Alo-Rx for the same reason but in the end settled for the Shadow still

I went to a meet on Saturday and had my Walkman X. The ALO Rx was there and it was a lot wider than the Walkman lol. I would need something like an iMod if I went portable again.
