yep I built it; call me mad or stupid (you choose) but I bought a 50cm long LOD- Eichmann silver bullet RCA (which contains 1m of CC cable piccolino) and then I chopped it up into little pieces
evil_smiley.gif
): to make a few LOD's, this one with blackgates in, a low profile one also with blackgates. a regular low profile for my iphone and a shorter more usable LOD->silver bullets for portable use with my next project; a portable VCAP TFTF and mundorf silver gold in oil capped dock. The wire is unavailable other than in cables so I did this and it really sounds fabulous. It was a real PITA to work with because its like a tiny thin Coaxial wire (that why there appears to be only two wires but there is actually 4) and it realy sucked stripping the inside coating on the internal signal wire. God I was nervous doing that with how much the wire cost me.

Indeed they are ER-4P with hearyourself.com custom molds. All that's missing now is the APS cable and I'll be in IEM heaven.

woot...my humble rig

current rig: iTouch2 + UE super.fi 3
mirror front screen protector, bestskinsever body skin on the back
LOD/amp/recable on the way, heh. Decent cases are impossible to find for the itouch2 in Canada, and I can't bring myself to carry the touch around with the FiiO yet...

old rig: D2 + FiiO E3 + UE super.fi 3 / Creative EP640 (backups) + Pelican i1010

he doesn't; the second box that looks like an amp is a large portable capped dock with VCAP TFTF (for HF sparkle and ultimate detail and to avoid the HF roll-off) in combination with VCAP VOIP (for massive bass slam) high end caps in. I think this would qualify as 'the best postable rig that money can buy' this is like an even higher end custom version of the RWA portable VCAP DOCK, This type of thing is used with an IMOD instead of having blackgate caps inside the ipod or the dock connector; really high-end caps are too big to fit inside the ipod or a regular size dock. add to this the fact that the internal wiring of it is UBER expensive Crystal cables piccolino or reference, like the wire he used in the docks and rca's, so this custom solution goes FAR beyond the likes of the RWA model. the cables and dock would've cost more than the IMOD and amp combined!!
eek.gif
and possibly as much as his UE11's this type of dock is my next project for myself (minus the CC reference wiring; i'm 'only' using cryo silver and jena copper for the internal, with CC piccolino for the LOD and IC's; it takes portable listening to a holographic level other DAPs could only hope to reproduce. And I get to have an extended listen to one exactly like this at the sydney meet next weekend

I cant wait to see what te teflon caps sound like
