By the way, I read somewhere that the Buffalo (the DAC is a Buffalo, right?) is a very high-end DIY DAC, is that right?

Yes, it's Buffalo II, and many say it's high-end :) More pics here.

You have some amazing DIY skills, jantze! I'm with MorbidToaster, I would definitely buy your projects just as I would buy products from famous brands! The construction and attention to detail are incredible... congratulations! That's a skill I wish I had!

Doesn't the triangular ceiling completely mess with the waveforms?

I find the speaker position is harder to get just right because of the ceiling, but it is something I have to deal with. It is the only room I have for listening

First post on Head-fi. :D I'm not sure if this is high end or not. This is my dad's high end system (though he has basically given it to me :) ) Man... It's getting dusty again (need to clean)

What is pictured (from top to bottom):

Speakers: Klipsch (Not sure on model)
Solid State Power Amplifier: Aragon 8008 - Dual Mono Amplifier
Source: Onkyo DX-710 Compact Disc Player RI
Onkyo Stereo Cassette Tape Deck TA-RW244
Preamp: Aragon 18K w/ Aragon IPS - Isolated Power Supply
Cables: Monster
Comments? :D

I would purchase these...Just...Wow.

Also, you own the greatest keyboard in the world, as do I. I still haven't found a better replacement.

Your mouse however is not an MX518 (master race). Although it does glow blue like your beautiful stack. :D

You are mistaken. The greatest keyboard in the world is the Model M.

About a week out from some dramatic changes to my speaker system.  I've moved alot of things around and taken about 2K records out of the room and added some things. Going to now have two complete systems using the same front end and different amp/speaker setups at opposite ends of the room. just have to scoot my chair from end  to end to listen to which system i feel like listening to. I prefer the Harbeth system and it will get a big majority of the time I'm in the room. my wife likes the YG Acoustic setup so when she decides to hang out we will probably do all that time with the VTL/YGA setup.
The front end will be the same for both.

VPI Superscoutmaster signature with upgraded platter and XLR outputs for vinyl
Koetsu Rosewood signature platinum cartridge
Esound E5 signature with heavy mods from RAM. (Very nice digital)
BAT VK-P10 phonostage with upgraded tubes
BAT REX preamp
BAT REX amplifier/Harbeth M40.1 speakers
VTL MB-185 signature monoblocks/YG Acoustics Carmel speakers
The VTLs have had the caps and resistors upgraded to Hovland and Vishay.
All cables are balanced audioquest Skys
Speakers cables are Audioquest Mont Blanc
For now i am using a 30' run of balanced cables from BJC for the long run to one system. Not sure how long I'll use them but 30' of AQ Skys aint happening.
All power is dedicated to the room.
I'll get some pics up asap.
