Krell Audio Standards  - 400wpc, class A. You're right, they know who they daddy is now!

That is EXACTLY what the 20.1's need.  When powered properly, the Maggies are among the very best speakers around.  Congrats!

400 watts in Class A  !!!!!!

Your speaker are not efficiency ? .....less that 85 db for 1 watt !

With a speaker between 95 to 100 db , you need only 50 watts for a good reproduction ... like most Altec vintage speaker .

My speaker system doesn't yet have all high end components.  But it does have great synergy and sounds great for what I have currently.  Several people with much more expensive systems have been surprised by how well it all works together.

Golgi, I owned MG10's for a while. Paired with a good sub, they're absolutely magical.

I see you've moved on to more conventional speakers.  How would you compare your high end speakers (from the pictures I saw earlier in this thread, they are B&W's right?) to your MG10's?

Here are some photos of my system.  I recently added the Adona Corporation Signature Component Racks and Adona Corporation Reference Amplifier Stands.  Additionally, I added the Cerwin Vega CMX 212s: four of them to be exact.  Each 212 has two twelve inch electrically powered woofers.  I do love my bass sounds.  Enjoy the pics.

Here are my Cerwin Vega CMX 212s.  I have four of them.  Two are biwired to one of my McIntosh Labs MC 1.2 KW mono block amps and another two of the 212s are biwired to another MC 1.2 KW.  Additionally, I have four Cerwin Vega D9s of which two are biwired to the third MC 1.2Kw and two more are biwired to the fouth MC 1.2 KW.

I must say that Cerwin Vegas are an excellent speaker.  Some people might not think so, but I disagree with them.

I have a McIntosh MC 501 which I use to run the Kilpsch Center Channel Speaker.  That speaker is actually behind the big amps and below the tv.

Here is the other photo of the Cerwin Vega CMX 212s.  The same information holds as in the previous photo.  Enjoy

Thanks for looking at my system.  A little bit of history is a good idea at this point.  I started building the system that you now see about five years ago.  It started with the big Sony TV, Stax Amps, Stax Headphones and Headroom Balanced Max.  At that point, I thought I was done.  Then I walked into Lyric Hifi; which is only a couple of blocks from my apartment and I almost had a heart attack.  Bob Herman, The sales person became my best friend as I continued to talk with him about what I wanted to build.  Unfortunately, at the time, I had no idea how I could afford such a system.  So I only bought two of the MC 1.2KWs from him.  Bob is the most wonderful and helpful person on the planet.  Some of my pieces were bought new or almost new off of the usual internet sites.  I was concerned about the warrantee situation in regard to these purchases but I went forward anyway as there was approximately a 20% to 30% savings to be had.

I think that I am now completely done; except for perhaps some better speaker wire and better balanced cables between the Mono Blocks and the Preamps etc.

By the way, one rack of components is for headphone use only= This is the rack with the MT 10 Turntable on it.  The other rack is for the external Cerwin Vega Speakers.

The sound is just amazing and as I am fully aware, Totally overkill for a 600 Sq Ft Manhattan apartment.  I do have padding around the walls to kill the sound; but I am also very lucky that my neighbors like my music.

Additionally, the good thing about McIntosh is that it sounds great at low and medium volumes as well.  Enjoy Scottsmrnyc

Great system!  I love all the Mac gear!  The 1.2KW's are next on my "to get" list.
