After 5 years with Tannoy Canterbury SE speakers, I've upgraded them to the current GR version. WOW what an upgrade...definitely far more than incremental. Congrats to Tannoy for not letting their top line languish after 90-ish years of beautiful history. The Audioquest Niagara 7000, tucked in behind the left monoblock, is also new. And on their way next week: upgrades to the turntable, rack (not putting a 100 lbs table on the current rack, lol), amps, and speaker cables.

Working on procuring the DiyT2

Wished I had kept the 4070 though.. really liked the look of that earspeaker..

That is a shame you let go of the 4070. Not many closed back electrostatic.
I know a guy who has the original T2. He will sell it for $35,000.00USD lol. I told him to fly a kite. And was very jealous at the same time.

Have you ever heard the gamma or alpha series?

That's ridiculous unless you are buying it as a collectable. The DIY version is superior and MUCH cheaper (though still expensive).

Yes buying it as a hobbyist enthusiasts collector.
And yes the DIY is superior because it solved all the issued of the Original. I wrote a post on it (check it out) and a few people got butt-hurt about me not mentioning the problems of it. I just wanted to highlight a legendary amp that broke many barriers.
I laugh and laugh and still laughing about the butthurtness. People keep on forgetting that original is original and that is how it is. Last selling sensible T2 sold for $15,000.00USD. Let's see another 1994 amp that can have a epic price tag like that 20 years later!!.

I'm still waiting ...

Aaa crap better contribute a picture

I am not sure how well verse you are with the HEV90 Dac and its amp. Well .... to my assumption you might not know too much about it...
The Dac of the HEV90 is garbage. It's outdated and useless. So 50% of the item is useless. The amp side of it is pretty decent and nice to own. Not worth while thou. So at the end you have a 50% item. And also you getting 3 items for $10,000.00. I bet just the amp/dac alone cost only $6000.00

Now the T2 was a juggernaut. A colossal beast. A destructive flawed creature that pretty much bankrupted STAX!!! The amp has enough power to power a city! Well that's just a metaphor.

Cheers

All hail the mighty T2.
Also Terminator 2 lol
