I dont think we' are on the same page re 'parametic eq', Nothing to do with the 'originality of the earphone'.  For starters, there is absolutely no 'one size fits all' aspect to parametric EQ, and its the first time I have considered buying a $900 box purely to be able to do EQ properly. Equalisation should be a scalpel, not a machete.

Resonance is the enemy, people.

For mobile use or what?  If sourcing from the computer software EQ should be just as good as any outboard box you can buy.

I take it you found PiccoloNamek's and my EQ guide helpful?

Well, the wife took over my SHE's today.  I don't have any hopes of getting them back.  Have to get another pair I guess.

as for cans i love my k701 and shure srh940. so i love my highs, but some phones seam to have a peak or two i cannot stand.

hope you guys have some suggestions.

I just wanted to say that I have similar tastes as you.  I also love my k701s but cannot find an IEM with similar sound.  The SHE3580 even without EQ sounds better to me than a $350 retail IEM that I recently tried.  If you find something a little better than the SHE but with similar sound in the treble, please let me know.

sofastreamer have you heard the RE0's.  They have great trebble thats non-fatiquing.  They're just too lean sounding to me.  I got to have the bass right.  Anyway, you've heard a lot more IEMs than i have, so thats just a thought.

i thought about re0 and read a lot and came to the conclusion that i would like re zero or re262 better. but at least they seem to have not enough sub bass rumble for my liking. i will wait for the gr07 first. if it is not to my joy, i will look further. next on my list will be the ckm500.

Had the re262 also - the cable twisted till I could no longer hear anything from the driver on one side. Like the RE0, I had to bury them. RIP, old friend.
