FYI A LOT OF THE X2HR'S HAVE A DEFECT - both speakers should be pointed towards your ears when the headphone is on, and they are shipping with the left one pointed away. just take screwdriver and rotate 180 degrees to match other side. zeos has details on his community thread,
Do you happen to have a link to that Zeos thread? Curious about how to do this rotation. Maybe it'll become self explanatory once I see the drivers in person...

It’s very straightforward.

Remove the pads, remove the small phillips screws, rotate the driver baffle 180 degrees, replace the small phillips screws, replace the pads.

The price on Amazon US has been steadily inching down, cent by cent. Right now it's at $112. Wondering where the bottom is. :)
It'd really odd, there are two listings for the X2HR, one is flagged "Amazon's Choice". However, this listing doesn't have a Ships from and Sold by Amazon.com option. The other listing is the official Amazon listing, if you want to buy direct from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZXKZ25/ Amazon's Choice (but not sold by Amazon)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N5VHLUG/ Not Amazon's Choice (but sold by Amazon)

Edit: This is why I really hate Amazon Marketplace. Why are there two listings for the same product?

Same Amazon's website is outdated as crap, but they are basically a monopoly at this point so why should they care.

Another example, newegg - when building a PC, allows you to sort ram, motherboards, etc very nicely very specific. Amazon does not. Amazon is highly overrated.

I agree that Amazon’s search is one of the worst on the Internet. There is absolutely no reason why a company so big and powerful should have such an abysmal search function.

eBay has a great one, which supports lots of command line options where you can include, exclude, sort, etc etc.

There's 2 different links because they have different part numbers:
X2HR/27 (available from 3/2017)

X2HR/00 (available from 10/2018)

Didn't you answer it yourself already? There ware two listings because there are two sellers - one is Amazon and the other is Phototech, in this case. Both are fulfilled by Amazon from the same warehouse and possibly the same exact bin. Both have Free Returns, so I wouldn't be concerned about buying from Phototech.

The reason why Phototech is cheaper is most likely due to the games that Amazon plays with sellers that choose to keep their stock at Amazon warehouse. If the product is not sold in X number of days, Amazon starts charging the seller pretty hefty storage fees, so the seller starts dropping their price in order to clear their stock more quickly and avoid those storage fees.

That's not how Amazon listings are supposed to work. Separate sellers of the same item are grouped together under the same listing. However, it often happens that the same actual product ends up being sold under two different SKUs or whatever.

I think all that means is which corner of the world they are originally meant to be sold in (europe, n. america, asia, etc)
Yep, your'e right, I forgot Philips did that. As long as I can remember, the /XX numbers on Philips products are the region they're originally from. /00 is a generic catch all, /27 is the US. For something like headphones, it's a moot point, so I don't know why there is a /27 version. I'll have to check my X2HR that I have when I get home. In this case, they're the same thing, and Amazon should combine the listings.

Those region codes are meaningful for things like TVs and Blu-ray players (things that have to plug-in).

New future owner of H2HR here :) I've just bought them for 103 Euros / 115 US dollars. Didn't really need another open backs, but I couldn't resist black friday deal and I'm curious how these compete with my HD599.

Just got my X2HR today... I may be in the minority here, but because of the stronger head clamping force of the X2HR, I actually find SHP9500 more comfortable in extended use. And the improvement in bass that I was hoping for over SHP9500, well, I feel like it's barely noticeable - still not nearly enough for my liking, but of course that's very subjective and a matter of personal preference. Maybe I don't have a good enough amp for it? So far I've tried it with Shanling M3s DAP, Fiio Q1 portable amp, and a Denon S740H receiver. Movie watching with the Denon is quite enjoyable, but music listening lacks some bass/midbass punch/fullness.

I was pretty sure I was going to send the SHP9500 back after getting the X2HR, but now I am reconsidering.
