The Pearstone's have been discontinued at B&H, but they've been replaced by Auray's Deluxe Velour and Genuine Sheepskin ones

Has anyone tried the sheepskin ear pads for the v6/7506? how do they fit and do they change the sound?

After trying and not liking the Velour ones, I went with Auray sheepskin on my 7506s and I love them. To me they sound very similar to the original pads, but feel much better on the bare skin. After many months of use they show no signs of wear.

How do the Auray pads compare to the original pads? Is the actual ear opening the same size? Is the Auray pad any thicker?

Thanks.

The depth of the Auray

Jim, the Auray pad looks to be the same depth as the original pads. The diameter of the opening looks to be just a wee bit smaller.. like ~1/8" less wide and tall. The padding on the inside feels almost imperceptibly firmer...and that could be due to the shell material.

Mine are more than a year old now and show absolutely no signs of wear. They look just like they did when they arrived in the package after hundreds of hours on my melon.
