Thanks for the replies.  I am currently trying the rubber band suggestion to bundle my system together (trying to avoid spending more money for now).  It's not pretty, but seems workable.  Just need to get a cheap camera case.
 
I was considering the SRH840s at one point, but some places I've read that they are not the most comfortable.  Maybe I can find a shop that will let me try them.
 
K271s look pretty sweet, but maybe a bit too big (though I can only infer from pictures).
 
The HD25-1s are on-ear, correct?  Are the pads very comfortable for long use?
