Has anybody been able to compare the N5 mk2 to the opus#1 and #3? People are claiming it beats both.

N5 MK2 is not exactly widely available, it's now on pre-order, so only some reviewers got some early units.

I own Cayin i5 and OPUS #3.
I have demoed OPUS #1 for 1 month and tried Cayin N5ii for an hour which My friend owns.
Cayin N5ii is a very good product but IMO OPUS #3 is good also.
Because they have different characters, I won't say N5ii beats OPUS #3.
But I think N5ii is good enough to compare with OPUS #3 and other DAPs near the price of OPUS #3.

I wrote My impression of N5ii, but it is only in Japanese.

Give them the benefit of the doubt, Cayin isn't too much into hype.

N5/N6 were brilliant DAPs and they certainly deserved new versions with a modern UI and more capacity.

Ok, got myself #3. Tested both no 2 and 3, but immediately fell in love with burr brown sound signature. I think after qp1r, this will be my new favorite. Kann came in close 3rd in my preference

Thanks man. i have soft spots for burr-brown. It's not the most detailed, but very musical. There's something in their sound that i cannot describe, yet always pull me towards burr-brown.

I know what you mean - i immediately fell in love with the #3 after auditioning it!
